A new video from unmannedspaceflight has been released. This one is very cool. It’s an animation flyover around the scarp surrounding Olympus Mons on Mars, with speed and height information and a context map embedded in the video. Olympus Mons is a vulcano almost three times as tall as Mount Everest and is in fact the tallest known volcano and mountain in the Solar System. The video is created using actual, high-resolution data from the HiRISE camera. Previous videos from unmannedspaceflight were released and they are also amazing. Un nuovo video da unmannedspaceflight è stato rilasciato. Si tratta di un’animazione di volo sulla scarpata circostante l’Olympus Mons su Marte, con i dati di velocità ed altezza ed una mappa di contesto incorporati nel video. L’Olympus Mons è un vulcano quasi tre volte più alto del monte Everest, ed è di fatto il più alto vulcano e montagna conosciuto nel Sistema Solare. Il video è stato creato utilizzando dati reali ad alta risoluzione dalla fotocamera HiRISE in orbita a bordo del Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Altri video da unmannedspaceflight erano stati rilasciati in precedenza ed anch’essi sono sorprendenti e ieri è uscito un bell’articolo su Universe Today su quest’argomento.
